Department of Textile & Fashion Designing

About the department:

The Department of Textile & Fashion Designing was established in the year 2006. The program channelizes the creative skills of the students, gives proper direction to the creative quotient & communication skill to mould them into successful fashion designers. The department focuses on providing on wholesome education to the students with emphasis on innovative garment designing, Fashion illustration & computer aided Fashion & garment design.

Programme Outcomes (PO)

  • PO-1 : To attain knowledge on fashion concepts and theories.
  • PO-2 : To gain hands on training on illustration of garment design manually and through computer application.
  • PO-3 : To gain skill on both manual and computerized pattern making.
  • PO-4 : To achieve skill on construction of children’s men’s and women’s.
  • PO-5 : To gain skill on create value added garment.
  • PO-6 : To compile creating innovative garment collection with portfolio.
  • PO-7 : To gain knowledge on process sequence of textile and garment manufacturing.
  • PO-8 : To gain knowledge on entrepreneur’s skills.
  • PO-9 : To gain knowledge about quality standards of textiles and apparels.
  • PO-10 : The students are also oriented towards conducting meaningful research during the final year. At the end of 6 semesters the course moulds the students to be qualified to position themselves for diverse work profiles available in the apparel manufacturing sector.

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSO)

  • PSO-1 : Graduates will be able to work as a fashion designer, stylist, and accessory designer in film industries and celebrities.
  • PSO-2 : Graduates are able to develop the fashion illustration techniques which help them to succeed as a unique professional in the Fashion industry.
  • PSO-3 : Graduates of Textile and Fashion designing students will be able to work as merchandiser, pattern maker, Fashion buyer, CAD Designer in Apparel Industries.
  • PSO-4 : Graduates will be employed as assistant fashion designer, fashion designers with their NSDC certification (sector skill) of level - 4 and 5.
  • PSO-5 : Graduates can function independently with their innovative, creative skills and excel as entrepreneurs and fashion consultant.
  • PSO-6 : Graduates will be able to conduct the fashion shows and outline the fashion show.
